Hogan Lovells, the Official Legal Services Provider and Gold Partner to ParalympicsGB, has awarded 10 Para athletes a Nicholas Cheffings Para Athlete Bursary for 2025.
Now in its eighth year, the bursaries will provide financial support to aid the career development of athletes aspiring to be selected for the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games and Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games. This might include purchasing and replacing vital equipment, paying for travel to training camps and competitions, additional coaching, or training support services.
The 2025 recipients are:
- Ben Sandilands, Para athletics
- Eliza Humphrey, Para swimming
- Evan Molloy, Para judo
- Hannah Moore, Para triathlon
- Karim Chan, Para athletics
- Nina Sparks, Para snowboard
- Sally Kidson, boccia
- Scarlett Humphrey, Para swimming
- Sophie Carrigill, wheelchair basketball
- Will Bayley, Para table tennis
Paris 2024 Para equestrian bronze medallist Natasha Baker, a bursary recipient last year, said: “The Hogan Lovells support and bursary was so instrumental in my preparation to Paris. I was able to create a whole new freestyle performance and pay for music to be individually created that perfectly matched my horse. It definitely elevated my performance in Paris and helped me bring home a bronze medal for ParalympicsGB. I’m so grateful for their support in 2024.”
Hogan Lovells’ UK Managing Partner, Penny Angell, said: “We are immensely proud to support athletes in their pursuit of representing ParalympicsGB at the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games and Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games. These bursaries can really make a difference in helping athletes prepare for competitions leading up to the Paralympic Games and reflects the firm’s commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are excited to see athletes’ development in the months and years ahead, and we look forward to seeing them represent ParalympicsGB in the future.”
ParalympicsGB and Hogan Lovells have enjoyed a longstanding partnership, with support including legal advice, secondments (including in-Games legal support) and volunteer contributions.
