Bio
Paris was Simon’s third Paralympics after earning his first ParalympicsGB cap at Beijing 2008, where he earned a bronze medal.
He missed London 2012 but returned for Rio 2016 to help the team win another bronze medal in a dramatic overtime thriller against Turkey.
At Paris 2024, Simon was part of the Wheelchair Basketball team that achieved the nation’s best result in the sport in 28 years by claiming second place and the silver medal. In a pulsating final, ParalympicsGB fought back from 12 points down but succumbed to 73-69 defeat to Team USA who claimed their own title of the greatest team ever after making it a historic three titles on the trot.
He was introduced to the sport when he was at school through a community project and proved to be a natural as he honed his skills at the London Force (now Titans) club. His first international tournament would be as a junior where he earned two European titles in 2002 and 2004 before gaining his full senior debut in 2007.
Aside from his international success, Simon has won titles for clubs around the world in Germany, Italy, South Africa and Spain.
Away from the court, he loves playing video games such as Fallout when he has some time to switch off away from sport. A big Arsenal fan, Simon enjoys watching his team play and prioritises getting out in nature for some hikes whenever he can.
