Bio
Olivia Breen has won medals of all colours at Paralympic, World, European and Commonwealth level, specialising in the T38 100m and Long Jump.
Her biggest victory of recent times was representing Wales at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, where she beat England’s Sophie Hahn in a pulsating 100m finish to claim gold by 0.04 seconds. That win would see her crowned as the BBC Cymru Sports Personality of the Year.
She has been on the Paralympic team since London 2012, where she claimed a bronze in the T35-T38 4x100m relay team and after missing out on medals in Rio, she climbed back onto the podium in Tokyo with bronze in the T38 Long Jump.
At Paris 2024 Olivia was pipped to a second consecutive long jump Paralympic bronze by the narrowest of margins after she achieved the same distance of 4.99m as Columbia’s Karen Palomeque Moreno but lost out on a medal on the countback rule. She also missed out on reaching the final in the T38 100m sprint.
Away from the track, Olivia is involved with some children’s charities such as Dame Vera Lynn, Dreams Come True and Leonard Cheshire.
