When Paula Dunn, head coach for British Athletics’ Paralympic Programme gives you advice, you should probably listen to her. And that is what Ola Abidogun did. The 28-year-old originally started out as a high jumper before Dunn encouraged him to try sprinting aged 15.

Four years later, Abidogun took bronze at the London 2012 Paralympic Games in the men’s T47 100m. In 2014, the Bolton sprinter went one better claiming silver at the European Championships before spending five years away from the GB set up, setting a personal best on his return at the 2019 World Championships.

The former property conveyancer competed at the 2021 European Championships, where he secured bronze in the T47 100m before competing in his second Paralympics in Tokyo, where he just missed out on the final in the heats.

Abidogun returned to Commonwealth action for England in 2022, where he claimed bronze in the T46-47 100m.
