Maddie Martin made her Paralympic debut in Paris, two years after her senior debut at the 2022 World Championships. At 19-years-old, she is the youngest member of the current squad.

She was part of the team that reached the Quarter-Finals at Paris 2024 losing to Team USA 59-52.

Maddie was inspired to take up the sport after watching the GB Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Team compete at London 2012. Her GB junior debut was at the 2018 U24 European Championships, where the team won Gold. The Portsmouth player currently divides her playing time between two clubs - Loughborough Lightning in the Women’s Premier League and Reading Rockets in the National League.

Her most recent medal success was last year at the 2023 European Championships as GB women came second to the hosts in the Netherlands.

Maddie has become known for instigating a game of frisbee whenever she’s away in camp or at competition. In fact, it goes everywhere with her! Maddie has a big family and credits them for her success as an athlete, calling them her biggest fans.
