Bio
Kyle has played wheelchair basketball for 15 years when it was suggested by his swimming coach he should give it a try. Since that sport switch, he has been part of the last three ParalympicsGB squads that have won back-to-back bronze medals in Rio and Tokyo and then silver in Paris.
At Paris 2024, the team achieved the nation’s best result in the sport in 28 years by claiming second place and the silver medal. In a pulsating final, ParalympicsGB fought back from 12 points down but succumbed to 73-69 defeat to Team USA who claimed their own title of the greatest team ever after making it a historic three titles on the trot.
Within three years of taking to court for the first time, Kyle earned a call-up to represent the GB U22 Team at the 2006, 2008, and 2010 U22 European Championships – winning silver at the latter Championship and securing a place in the All-Star Team.
He made the senior team at the 2013 and 2015 European Championships, becoming a double champion in the process.
As a father of a five-year-old, Kyle loves to spend his time away from sport with his son. Since becoming a father, Kyle believes he’s improved as an athlete and credits the balance that being a parent has given him for this. He currently lives and plays professionally in Malaga, Spain.
