Bio
Katie was the youngest player on the team aged 16 when she made her Paralympic debut in 2016.
She got her GCSE’s the day before she flew out to Rio where she humorously explains the only grade she didn’t get was in physical education.
Born in County Antrim, she was previously a swimmer but was looking for a new sport after being diagnosed with a form of multiple sclerosis. Katie was introduced to the sport in 2013 by Phil Robinson, a development coach for Disability Sport Northern Ireland.
In 2015, she helped the team win gold in her first tournament at the U25 World Championships in Beijing before graduating to the senior team at the Europeans later that year, earning a bronze medal.
She was part of the team that reached the Quarter-Finals at Paris 2024 losing to Team USA 59-52.
Katie is passionate about inspiring young women and girls back home to take up the sport.
