Fliss qualified for Paris in March 2024 when she won gold at the Polish Open continuing a run of medal success at major championships.

Making her Paralympic debut and paired up with Bly Twomey in the Women’s Doubles MD14 event, the duo took home the bronze medal. Despite leading their semi-final with a strong first set, the pair lost out 3-1 against China’s Huang Wenjuan and Jin Yucheng to miss out on playing in the gold medal match.

Pickard won a pair of bronze medals at the 2023 European Championships in the Class 6 singles and Class 14 doubles with her partner Grace Williams after they had claimed gold together at the 2022 World Championships in Spain.

After missing qualification for the last two Paralympics, Fliss made determined strides by winning three consecutive tournaments after Tokyo 2020. She credits her competitive spirit to her dad Will, who she claims never lets her win at board games.

Having been keen on sport from an early age Fliss started playing table tennis when she wanted to find a sport she could play competitively. Dressage, boccia and swimming failed to provide her with the challenge that she wanted but at the age of 14 she was asked to play while volunteering at Hyndburn table tennis club. She has been a member of the Performance squad since 2014.
