Ellie learnt to swim when she was four years old and was talent-spotted back in July 2012. She was inspired by watching her now-teammate Ellie Simmonds at London 2012, and continued to progress at Northampton Swimming Club.

Ellie made her Paralympic debut at Rio 2016 in stunning style, winning gold in the 50m butterfly S6. She picked up a second medal in the 100m freestyle S6.

She has continued to balance training with her studies and the results have paid off. Her 2018 season began well, winning the Commonwealth title in the S6/S7 50m butterfly for Team England on the Gold Coast.

Still aged just 18, Ellie made Ellie made her debut World Championships appearance in London in 2019 where she added further silverware to her already growing collection.

Despite narrowly missing out on the podium in both the S6 50m and 100m freestyle final with two fourth-place finishes, Ellie maintained her medal run at major championships by taking silver in the S6 50m butterfly final.
