Only one year after she first attended a Para rowing Talent ID day, Ellen Buttrick became a world champion in the PR3 Mixed Coxed Four.
She subsequently defended her title as part of the successful British crew at the 2019 World Championships in Linz, Austria.
Buttrick won Gold in PR3 Mix4x at the 2021 Varese European Championships alongside Rakauskaite, Fox, Stanhope and Kennedy and repeated that performance in Tokyo for her first Paralympic honour with the team.
After Tokyo, Ellen started a Masters at the London School of Economics in Gender, Policy and Inequalities completing the degree in 2024.
She had double hip surgery in 2022 but after recovering in 2023, she has represented Great Britain in the PR3 Women’s Pair event.
