Didi Okoh shared a bronze medal at Paris 2024 after a dramatic photo finish in the T63 100m final in the Stade de France saw her reach the Paralympic podium at the first time of asking.
Ndidikama, known as Didi, has been competing in athletics since 2012 when she did a series of minithons at Lee Valley. She competed at her first Para athletics event earlier this year in Jesolo, Italy, where she won a 100m final and competed in the shot put, priming her ready for her Paralympic debut at Paris 2024.
Didi, who studies law at the University of Birmingham, first became aware of her disability at an athletics event in Chelmsford as she was always a keen runner from an early age. A friend commented on the difference in size of her legs and went to see her GP, but the condition was unnoticed and misdiagnosed as swelling from a muscle injury. She was eventually told about lymphedema at Great Ormond Street hospital after a year of appointments.
