After the Rio 2016 Paralympics, Dan was invited onto the GB talent squad, where his passion for the sport saw him excel as a player before making his international debut at the 2022 European Championships. Paris will be his Paralympic debut.
He helped the team win a silver medal at the Europeans after they were beaten by France in the final and the game has helped Dan return to the active lifestyle he prefers.
They narrrowly missed out on a medal at Paris 2024 finishing fourth after a narrow 50-48 defeat to Australia - a team they had been in the group stage
In 2012, he was involved in a work-related accident that caused a spinal injury and discovered wheelchair rugby during his rehabilitation, immediately drawn to the physical challenge of the game.
Outside of wheelchair rugby, Dan is a fan of motocross and is a proud father of young twins and recently has just had his third child. He also has a love for animals and when he’s not playing, he’s busy looking after a farm of alpacas, dogs and ducks.
