Columba Blango made an immediate impact on his international debut as he won gold in the men’s T20 400m at the 2021 European Para Athletics Championships in Poland with a new European record time of 47.90.

His Paralympic debut was equally impressive as he claimed T20 400m bronze with a personal best 47.81.

His father, Columba Sr, is a former Olympic decathlete for Sierra Leone and politician.
