Bio
Claire first tried boccia when she went along to local club, Discovering she really enjoyed the sport and had a talent for it, she was invited to join the boccia players at the Ulster squad.
Previously classified as BC4, Claire has been reclassified to a BC2 player and found great success in 2015. As the number 1 ranked player in Northern Ireland she has also helped the BC1/BC2 team to gold at the European Team and Pairs Championships and silver at the Rio test event.
Competing in Rio, Claire made history by becoming the first person from Northern Ireland to compete at the Paralympics in the sport of boccia. She was just 21 years old, and she reached the quarter-final stage of the Mixed Team BC1-2 event.
She is currently ranked 10th in the world and in 2019 she scooped silver at the European Championships in Seville.
Claire has a passion for music, especially Snow Patrol and Biffy Clyro, and keeps several tortoises and other reptiles.
