At Paris 2024 Ali Smith repeated her Tokyo achievement by once again winning a Silver medal in the 4x100m Universal Relay at the Stade de France, this time alongside Zac Shaw, Sammi Kinghorn and Jonnie Peacock.
Tokyo 2020 was Smith’s first Paralympic Games. The T38 sprinter was part of ParalympicsGB’s silver medal-winning quartet in the Universal relay. Together with Jonnie Peacock, Nathan Maguire, Libby Clegg and her guide Chris Clarke, the team clocked a new European record of 47.50.
Smith also has European Championship medals to her name - she won T38 400m silver at Berlin 2018 and bronze at Bydgoszcz 2021.
After injury caused her to miss out on the T38 100m final of the 2023 World para Athletics Championships, Smith was voted as co-captain for the 2024 event in Kobe alongside teammate Zac Shaw. She replicated her success from Tokyo, securing silver in the 4x100m Universal Relay.
