ParalympicsGB PyeongChang team celebrated in Manchester
The 17 athletes who will represent Great Britain at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Paralympic Games came together for the first time on Thursday at the ParalympicsGB Official Team Launch.
The Launch, which took place in Manchester, is the only time the whole team will be together before their departure for the Paralympic Winter Games in March.
A host of media activity was followed by a gala dinner and the unveiling of this year’s ParalympicsGB formal wear.

Formal wear
This year’s formal wear was designed by ASOS in a continuation of the partnership with the British Paralympic Association which began prior to the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
The ParalympicsGB formal wear is one of three outfits in a range designed by ASOS exclusively for ParalympicsGB and includes a number of premium heritage pieces with bespoke branding.
The online fashion destination has also created the team’s Opening and Closing Ceremony wear, the first of which will be unveiled on 9th March.
The Team Launch Gala Dinner
The Team Launch Gala Dinner was hosted by Ade Adepitan and was attended by the Mayor of Manchester Andy Burnham as well as Manchester Central MP Lucy Powell and speakers included British Paralympic Association Chair Nick Webborn, ParalympicsGB Ched de Mission Penny Briscoe and Olympic hockey gold medallist Kate Richardson-Walsh.

The Paralympic Winter Games
The Paralympic Winter Games begin on March 9 and will feature 17 British athletes competing across five sports – Para alpine skiing, Para snowboard, Para Nordic skiing (biathlon and cross-country) and wheelchair curling.
