Double World Cup success for Pick
Medals in La Molina
Paralympian Owen Pick enjoyed double success at the Parasnowboard World Cup in La Molina by picking up two bronze medals across the opening two days.
The 27-year-old took the final spot on the podium in Tuesday’s snowboard cross event – the second of the week – behind winner Canadian winner Alex Massie.
Pick, the PyeongChang 2018 flag bearer, qualified third with his time of 46.78 seconds before winning his quarter-final against American Garrett Geros.
But the 2017 World Championship silver medallist lost out of Australian Ben Tudhope in the semi-finals, before he beat American Zach Miller to secure his spot on the rostrum.

Podium spot secured
Pick opened his World Cup campaign in Spain on Monday by reaching the knockout rounds of the first snowboard cross event with a qualifying time of 47.24 seconds, making him the fourth-fastest athlete.
His quarter-final race saw him beat American Keith Gabel but he lost out to eventual winner Tudhope in the final four.
But just as he did 24 hours later, Pick recovered to beat Finish athlete Matti Suur-Hamari in the bronze medal race to secure the final podium spot.
Fellow Brit Andy Macleod also took to the slopes in Spain but failed to qualify for the knockout rounds in either event.
