Hailing from Norwich in the east of England, Sam was born with a condition called nystagmus, which causes his eyes to shake from side to side and gives him limited peripheral vision - being able to see around six to eight metres clearly.
Sam grew up playing football in goal, however his parents were keen for him to try something new - something different to everyone else.
He had started skiing at the age of four, racing on a dry slope in Norwich until at 15 he was picked up by the GB Snowsport Para development team.
Competing across the European circuit in 2025⁄2026 Sam has achieved strong results with his Guide, Adam Hall, including two third place finishes in the Giant Slalom and two victories in the Slalom at the Slovakia National Championships at Jasná in January.
