Stewart, from Blairgowrie in Scotland, had one chance to secure her quota place for Tokyo and did it at the first time of asking at the World Shooting Para Sport Lima World Cup, securing a bronze medal with a score of 427.

It’s been a long journey for the 42-year-old who won European silver in 2013 - she was in the mix for selection ahead of Rio 2016, but countless operations and years in hospital meant she was forced to transition from a below-knee amputee to an above-knee amputee.

She returned to the sport in 2019 and at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, she competed in the Women’s R2 10m air rifle and the Women’s R8 50m rifle but did not progress to the finals.
