Katie started skiing at the age of 5 on a golf course in Nethy Bridge, from there progressing to the slopes of the Cairngorms. Joining the Scottish Ski club, Katie followed in her sister’s (Charlie Guest) footsteps and competed individually until 2015. During this time, she picked up national titles and represented both the Scottish and British national ski teams.

Following two seasons spent at Killington Mountain School in Vermont, Katie decided to retire from the sport and start at Newcastle University. However, this did not last long, and she stepped in to guide Millie Knight for a week’s camp at Wittenberg. She quickly agreed to become Millie’s reserve guide for the following 4 seasons, accompanying her on camps when Brett was injured. During this time, Katie also guided Darcy Werner and together won both slalom and Giant Slalom titles at the British Para Championships in 2019.

Katie joined forces with visually impaired skier Menna Fitzpatrick in 2021 and the pair went on to win slalom gold and Super combined silver at the delayed 2021 World Championships in Lillehammer, Norway.
