Bio
Jamie first got into boccia by attending a come and try event for disability sport, where he met the Scotland coach at that time who gave him the opportunity to go and watch the Scotland team train.
Encouraged to start competing, Jamie was in the GB squad at the age of 14 and has represented GB in two different categories, starting in BC4 before moving to BC3.
Career highlights include European BC4 pairs gold in 2013, BC3 individual silver and BC3 pairs bronze at the BISFed World Open in Montreal, Canada, and BC3 pairs bronze at the BISFed World Open in Povoa de Varzim, Portugal.
He and his brother Scott were selected for Rio and were teammates in the same category. Jamie’s Mum takes the role of ramp assistant for him, while Dad is Scott’s ramp assistant, involving the whole family in competition in Rio.
At the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games Jamie and his team-mates Scott McCowan and Patrick Wilson didn’t get beyond the pool stage winning one of their three matches.
The trio bounced back to claim Silver medals at the 2017 BISFed European Championships, held in Povoa de Varzim, Portugal.
