Bio
Dave, a member of Llantarnam Archery Club, only returned to archery in 2014 after a 30-year break. He was selected for the GB squad in 2014 and made his international debut at the Para World Ranking Tournament in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic where he secured a gold medal as part of the men’s team and a mixed team bronze.
In the same year, Dave was selected to represent Great Britain at the European Para Championship in Notwill, Switzerand where he won team gold and mixed team bronze, as well as finishing fifth in the individual competition.
Dave made his Paralympic debut at Rio 2016, competing in the mixed team event alongside Tania Nadarajah. The pair were knocked out at the quarter-final stage of the recurve mixed team competition in a tense shoot-off by top seeds Iran 5-4.
In the men’s individual recurve (open) Dave achieved a ranking of 9th.
At the World Archery Para Championships in 2022 Phillips finished second with teammate Cameron Radigan before he and Cameron took gold in the European doubles event a year later.
