Dan first began skiing in 2015 when he was invited on a ski trip to the USA by BLESMA (British Limbless Serviceman’s Association). Seven years previously, Dan had been injured while serving in Afghanistan.
On his return from the USA, Dan knew he wanted to continue skiing so got in touch with the Armed Forces Para Snowsport Team. It was with this charity that Dan was able to progress with his skiing and start competing.
Within four years Dan had progressed from novice to World Cup racer. He was selected for the GB Para alpine squad for the 2021⁄22 season and competed at his first World Championships in Lillehammer, Norway in January 2022, finishing 13th in the Slalom.
Dan made his Games debut at Beijing 2022, competing in the slalom and giant slalom events although sadly he was not placed in either discipline after falls on the second run in the tricky conditions.
