Beth was just six years old when the now legendary Caroline Baird crossed the line at the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games to win gold in the 400m. It was a moment that not only inspired a sporting dream but began a friendship:
In 2020, Beth was invited onto UK Sport’s World Class Programme. Her dreams of competing at a Paralympic Games moved a huge step forward.
Although Beth has been playing boccia since the age of 10, she has only been recently playing as a BC3 player – and therefore with a ramp assistant.
Away from boccia, Beth has achieved a 1st degree from the University of York in social policy. She is a keen public speaker and is invited to present at conferences all around the world. She undertook her first international presentation at the age of 12.
She is deaf and she uses Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) which was made famous by Stephen Hawking.
