Born and bred in the north east of Scotland, Ali learned to ski on the dry slope in Aberdeen, before progressing into racing and eventually to international selection to the British Children’s Alpine Team. At 16, Ali decided to pursue a career in snowsport and was selected to the Scottish Ski Team. He was paired as a guide to visually impaired Para Alpine skier Hester Poole in 2023, while studying at the University of Edinburgh.

Ali is an established ski instructor and race coach.
