Tough test for Brits at European Championships
Great Britain Women’s tough run continues after missing out on knockout stages at the European Sitting Volleyball Championships.
In the opening two games of the fifth to ninth place play-offs, the Brits slipped to narrow defeats against Hungary and Croatia.
After defeat to Russia knocked them out of Group B, the Brits were in better form on Thursday.
Both defeats were by a 3-1 scoreline and in particular in the latter clash with Croatia they had their chances to claim a first win.
All four group matches against Finland, Ukraine, Italy and Russia had seen successive 3-0 defeats.
Great Britain will have two further games on July 19 as the next round of the tournament begins which will decide who finishes fifth to ninth.
