First performers and hosts revealed as Channel 4 is confirmed to broadcast the celebration
Details have been unveiled for The National Lottery’s ParalympicsGB Homecoming event, taking place at The SSE Arena, Wembley, on Sunday 12 September.
A stellar line-up of the very best of British music and entertainment will provide an epic celebration of our ParalympicsGB athletes and their achievements at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
The exciting line-up is set to include performances from Birdy, Jamie Cullum, James Arthur, Evelyn Glennie, Ella Henderson, Sheku Kanneh-Mason, House Gospel Choir, and poet Raymond Antrobus.
Channel 4 will broadcast the event exclusively, with The Last Leg hosts Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker confirmed to host the celebration. Further details of what audiences can expect will be announced at a later date.
Tickets to the event are free, and available via a ballot which is open to all National Lottery players - the people who have powered Team GB and ParalympicsGB to success since 1997. Across the two Homecoming events, hundreds of tickets for the events will be gifted to key workers to celebrate and thank them for their incredible work for the country through the pandemic.
As a thank you for supporting ParalympicsGB every time they buy a ticket, 3500 pairs of tickets will be available to National Lottery players via the ballot. The ballot is now open, and closes on 26 August.

National Lottery players have been funding elite sport in the UK since 1997, with over £2.8 billion invested in supporting British Olympic and Paralympic sport. The support has paid off and today, ParalympicsGB is one of the most successful teams in the Paralympics, having bagged 147 medals in Rio alone. In total, National Lottery funding has helped the nation to win 929 Olympic and Paralympic medals. The Tokyo Paralympics looks set to push that total past the 1,000 landmark.
David Smith, Rio 2016 Boccia gold medallist, said, “The National Lottery really has allowed me to fulfill my dreams - I could not have done it without the support of the players. It will be great to come back and celebrate with the Great British public after the team’s success in Tokyo. It is set to be an amazing event and I can’t wait to see you there!”
Alex Brooker, comedian and host of The National Lottery’s ParalympicsGB Homecoming, said, “Myself and the Last Leg lads are chuffed to be hosting The National Lottery’s ParalympicsGB event. I can only imagine how tough the journey to Tokyo must have been for ParalympicsGB but we will give them the knees-up they deserve at Wembley when they get back!”
Today’s announcement follows the success of yesterday’s Team GB Homecoming event in London, which combined the very best of music, entertainment and sport to mark the return of Team GB athletes from the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Audiences were treated to unique performances and collaborations from a range of artists, including Anne-Marie, KSI, Laura Mvula, Mica Paris, Nile Rogers, Rag’n’Bone Man, YungBlud, Rambert, Chickenshed, and English National Ballet.
