ParalympicsGB launches Athlete Community Hub
Two years on from the creation of the Athlete Community, ParalympicsGB is delighted to announce the launch the Athlete Community Hub, a new, exclusive digital home for Paralympians from across the decades to call their own.
The Athlete Community is an exclusive network for those who have represented ParalympicsGB — a lifelong connection built on shared experience, identity and achievement. By joining the Community, members receive their Athlete Recognition Tokens, with one awarded for each Paralympic Games they have competed in, celebrating every chapter of their Paralympic journey.
This new Hub brings that community together in one dedicated space, designed to support athletes during and beyond their sporting careers.

A new exclusive digital home for Paralympians from across the decades
The Hub provides Paralympians with access to a wide range of resources and opportunities tailored specifically to athletes who have worn the ParalympicsGB kit throughout our 65+ year history. Developed in partnership with the Athlete Community Advisory Group, the platform has been co-created with Paralympians to reflect the needs and interests of athletes at every stage of their journey, while also helping ParalympicsGB stay connected with its alumni beyond Games time.
A broad suite of resources including job support, paid commercial opportunities, personal development tools and chat functions are available, with plans to introduce regional subgroups and social impact interest networks, helping to strengthen connections across the community.
Sometimes in our careers in sport and afterwards, we can feel a little isolated. Through the Hub I’m excited to really live the phrase ‘Once a Paralympian, always a Paralympian’.
Chair of the Athlete Community Advisory Group, Kelly Gallagher said: “Inside, and outside of sport, ParalympicsGB Paralympians boast a wealth of experiences. However sometimes in our careers in sport and afterwards, we can feel a little isolated. Through the Hub I’m excited to really live the phrase ‘Once a Paralympian, always a Paralympian’ and I hope everyone feels welcomed and knows this is their space.”
With the support of the National Paralympic Heritage Trust, the Hub will host images from ParalympicsGB’s archives, offering a behind–the-scenes look at previous Paralympic Games. Members will be able to share their own photos and stories, creating a rich catalogue of memories and celebrating their unique contribution to British Paralympic history.
The next level
ParalympicsGB Chief Executive David Clarke, who competed at the Atlanta 1996, Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Games, said: “Since launching the Athlete Community in June 2024, membership has grown to over 500 athletes, and we’re excited for the Hub to take the Community to the next level.
Last year, we began hosting reunion events, and the Hub will now enable athletes to connect year-round — whether that’s reconnecting with former teammates or building new relationships across the Paralympic movement.
It’s incredibly important to us that athletes feel ParalympicsGB’s ongoing commitment to supporting them long after competition. From professional development opportunities to exclusive benefits from our commercial partners, the Hub will serve as a one-stop shop for athletes to stay connected, informed and supported.”
Four time Paralympian and Athlete Commission member Louise Sugden said: “As a competing athlete, having a space like this is incredibly valuable. Being able to tap into experiences of other Paralympians while accessing support for life beyond sport makes a real difference.”
