Lambert secures first British medal in Osijek
Lorraine Lambert claimed Great Britain’s first medal of the World Shooting Para Sport World Cup with bronze in the women’s R8 50m rifle 3 positions SH1 final.
The 46-year-old recorded a score of 438.3 points in Osijek to finish on the podium, behind Sweden’s Anna Normann and Natascha Hiltrop of Germany.
Lambert – who finished fifth in the same discipline at the 2016 Paralympic Games – had qualified in fifth but stepped up to finish comfortably inside the top three.
Lambert had been pushing at the top of the ranks around the midway stage and despite falling away towards the end of the session, was well ahead of Avani Lekhara in fourth.
The Portsmouth-born athlete’s success represents the team’s first podium finish on the second day of competition, with two more days to go.
