Knight adds silver to World Cup medal tally
Three-time Paralympic medallist Millie Knight claimed her third World Para Alpine Skiing World Cup podium finish in three days, as she and guide Brett Wild won giant slalom silver on the penultimate day in Kranjska Gora.
The duo topped the ranks after completing their first run in 1:06.08 but dropped down into second place following a blistering performance from German pair Noemi Ewa Ristau and Paula Elia Brenzel, who finished 0.5 seconds clear.
Knight and Wild’s latest success comes a day after they secured their first World Cup gold in almost three years, following their bronze-medal finish on the first day of giant slalom action.
Completing the podium for their second successive third-place finish were GB’s Menna Fitzpatrick and Gary Smith, who finished 3.83s adrift of Ristau and Brenzel.
Elsewhere, Neil Simpson and Andrew Simpson – who had picked up giant slalom bronze on day two – finished fourth in the men’s competition with a combined time of 2:04.76.
One day of competition remains in Slovenia, with slalom events set to conclude the third World Cup event of the 2020 season.
