About us

We are ParalympicsGB, the National Paralympic Committee for Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Our success is built on the amazing performances of disabled athletes, people who show that talent and potential is strong across all of society. We are proud to be a Disability Confident Leader, reflecting our passion for disability inclusion. We are at our most effective with disabled people and non-disabled people working together and we are committed to supporting people with disabilities or long-term conditions by removing barriers that they may face at work.

ParalympicsGB will continue to be a great organisation if our staff reflects the full breadth of the society we represent. If you can do the job, we want you to apply.

We aim to create a truly inclusive, welcoming environment where every member of our team can thrive and where every individual feels their contribution matters, regardless of identity or background.

What we do

It is our responsibility to select, prepare, enter, fund, and manage the ParalympicsGB team at Summer and Winter Paralympic Games. Together with athletes and the governing bodies of their sports, we have become world-class in sending a Best Prepared team.

But ParalympicsGB is far more than a world-leading sports team, winning medals across a diverse range of sports. Our mission includes driving positive, sustainable change for disabled people in UK society.

Our ambition is to use the positive power of the Paralympics and of Paralympic athletes to inspire a change in attitudes to disability and bring about equality for disabled people in sport, education and society.

We listen to and learn from athletes, the disabled community, and the sport, education and disability sectors.

With the excitement of the Paris Paralympic Games still fresh in our minds and the recent launch of Championing Change Creating Social Impact 2024-2032.pdf, there could not be a more exciting time to join us!

About you

This is not a technical role. A good understanding is certainly needed of the key aspects of how an organisation’s technical estate works is essential. You need to understand the processes and key steps in onboarding new devices, resolving lower-level user issues, ensuring cyber security practices are embedded, managing licence requirements and ordering new devices. However, the technical aspects of these areas are managed by our external support service.

Of vital importance is your experience in managing relationships, particularly with an external support provider. That provider relationship covers ongoing smooth running of the service, resolving user difficulties and co-managing larger-scale projects. You will also bring a commitment and enthusiasm for working with colleagues. You will enjoy helping to resolve their challenges, whether directly or, more frequently, by being a bridge between the user and the support service.

You will be comfortable being the first port of call for anyone with a question about laptops, mobile phones and applications. We are a relatively small staff team and this role is the only position involved with IT and IT relationships.

For full information on the role’s requirements please review the job description which details the main tasks and responsibilities and the person specification.

What can you expect?

We offer a wide range of benefits including pension, cycle to work scheme, employee assistance programme, private healthcare, a generous holiday entitlement and paid volunteering days. We also offer enhanced maternity and paternity benefits.

We are based in accessible, modern offices in the heart of London. We also have a ‘performance hub’ on campus at Loughborough University. We have a flexible approach to working patterns. This commitment to flexibility in how we work, when we work and where we work is an important feature of life at ParalympicsGB and we will do all we can to help you work in a way that suits you within organisational needs.

As part of our proud commitment as Disability Confident Leaders, we strongly encourage disabled candidates to apply. Should you meet the essential criteria set out in the job description we will invite you to attend an interview. We will also go the extra mile to give any support you might find helpful during the interview process.

The successful candidate will be supported throughout their journey with ParalympicsGB. We are committed to providing a positive team experience from start to finish and beyond, helping all our staff develop their skills and reach their full potential.
