Hogan Lovells launches 2024 Nicholas Cheffings Para Athlete Bursary
Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce the launch of its 2024 Nicholas Cheffings Para Athlete Bursary, calling for applications as it continues as a Gold Partner and the Official Legal Services Provider to ParalympicsGB.
There are 10 bursaries available with each award providing support to Para athletes as they prepare for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Paralympians and aspiring Paralympians recognised by Paralympics and their National Governing Body will be eligible to apply for these one-off bursaries to help with any aspect of their sporting development. This might include purchasing or replacing vital equipment, paying for travel to training camps and competitions, or additional coaching and training support services.
Penny Angell, UK Managing Partner at Hogan Lovells, said: “We deeply value our relationship with ParalympicsGB, supporting them in their mission to enable world-leading performance at the Paralympic Games and to inspire a better world for disabled people. At Hogan Lovells, delivering on our commitments to diversity and inclusion and responsible business is a strategic priority and disability is one of our core strands of diversity globally.”

Since 2018, we’ve provided bursaries to 55 incredible Para athletes to help them fulfil their potential at the highest level.
2023 bursary recipient Aaron McKibbin, ParalympicsGB athlete and three-times Paralympic bronze medallist, commented “it’s been a privilege to receive the Hogan Lovells Nicholas Cheffings bursary. It’s been a huge help to attend extra training camps for the qualification competitions throughout 2023 in the run up to Paris 2024. To have the support of such an established brand and to hear of other bursary recipient success stories throughout the year has given me that extra bit of motivation during training and competitions this year.”
