British Paralympic Association statement - Raph Rinaldi

The British Paralympic Association is deeply saddened by the news that the search for colleague and friend Raph Rinaldi, missing after going hiking in the Alps just over two weeks ago, has been called off.

Raph was an invaluable member of ParalympicsGB’s support staff at the Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games earlier this year as Lead Physio for ParalympicsGB’s Alpine Skiing team in China.

ParalympicsGB Chef de Mission for Beijing 2022, Phil Smith said: “We are all heartbroken with the news that Raph has not been found and all our thoughts are with his family and friends at this incredibly distressing time, as well as the numerous colleagues from a broad spectrum of sports who have worked with Raph over the years.

“Raph’s warmth and professionalism made him an integral part of the ParalympicsGB delegation and he helped our athletes achieve so many historic milestones at Beijing 2022.”
