Job: Athlete Services Manager (Classification)

This is a permanent position with a salary of circa £35k-£40k per annum dependant on experience, plus paid holiday, flexible working, and benefits package.

About us

We are the British Paralympic Association, known as ParalympicsGB. As the National Paralympic Committee for Great Britain, it is our responsibility to select, prepare, enter, fund, and manage the ParalympicsGB team at Summer and Winter Paralympic Games.

But ParalympicsGB is far more than a world leading sports team winning medals across a diverse range of sports. Our mission includes driving positive, sustainable change for disabled people in UK society. Over the past two years our efforts on social impact have grown as we have spent time listening to and learning from athletes, the disabled community, and the sport, education, and disability sectors.

Our ambition is to use the positive power of the Paralympics and of Paralympic athletes to inspire a change in attitudes to disability and bring about equality for disabled people in sport, education, and society. Our approach is disabled-led.

With the excitement of the Paris Paralympic Games still fresh in our minds and the recent launch of Championing Change Creating Social Impact 2024-2032.pdf, there could not be a more exciting time to join us!

We offer a wide range of benefits including pension, cycle to work scheme, employee assistance programme, private healthcare, and a generous holiday entitlement.

We are based in accessible, modern offices in the heart of London. We also have a ‘performance hub’ on campus at Loughborough University. We have a flexible approach to working patterns. This commitment to flexibility in how we work, when we work and where we work is an important feature of life at ParalympicsGB and we will do all we can to help you work in a way that suits you within organisational needs.

Come and meet us, we’re great to work with. In a recent survey, when asked what was great about working at ParalympicsGB, staff said the following:

There is a real sense of team and a real sense of pride throughout the organisation. People really work well together.”

“Being part of an organisation with real impact and purpose, working alongside really kind and talented people.”

“It’s a great environment to work in and you have the knowledge that you are making a difference.”

About you

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about Para sport with knowledge and experience of classification and a desire to contribute positively to our ‘Best Prepared Team’ strategy for each Summer and Winter Paralympic Games. Reporting directly into the Head of Athlete Services and working closely with other members of ParalympicsGB’s Sport team, you will contribute significantly to the delivery of ParalympicsGB’s Athlete Services strategy as well as support the wider aims of the organisation.

Ours is a fast-paced environment and we are a close-knit team who work collaboratively (nationally and internationally) across a range of Games planning and delivery projects. The environment we work in is positive, challenging and fun, as you would expect in a sporting organisation. We are committed to delivering excellence for the National Governing Bodies we work with and for every member of ParalympicsGB, both athletes and staff.

You’ll be someone who takes pride in working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders, helping ParalympicsGB achieve its strategic goals. You’ll feel confident supporting athletes and staff across the high performance system on topics around classification, anti-doping and safeguarding. You’ll be dependable in managing and reporting on projects and identifying innovative solutions.

The successful candidate will be supported every step of the way on their journey with ParalympicsGB. We are committed to ‘a positive Team experience for all team members’ and are committed to helping all our staff develop their skills and reach their full potential.
