Claire first tried boccia when she went along to local club, Discovering she really enjoyed the sport and had a talent for it, she was invited to join the boccia players at the Ulster squad.

Previously classified as BC4, Claire was reclassified to a BC2 player and found great success in 2015. As the number one ranked player in Northern Ireland she has also helped the BC1/BC2 team to gold at the European Team and Pairs Championships and silver at the Rio test event.

Competing in Rio, Claire made history by becoming the first person from Northern Ireland to compete at the Paralympics in the sport of boccia. She was just 21 years old, and she reached the quarter-final stage of the Mixed Team BC1-2 event.

Claire became World Champion at the 2022 World Championships in Rio de Janeiro, winning her World Championships crown in the same venue that she made her first Paralympic Games appearance in 2016.

Claire has a passion for music, especially Snow Patrol and Biffy Clyro, and keeps several tortoises and other reptiles.
