Sir Philip Craven joins ParalympicsGB as Honorary Vice-President

ParalympicsGB is delighted to announce that British Paralympian and former IPC President Sir Philip Craven has been appointed as an Honorary Vice-President in recognition of his lifetime of service to the Paralympic movement

Sir Philip is a five-time Paralympian in wheelchair basketball and went on to lead the sport as President of the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation from 1988-2002.

Between 2001 and 2017 he was the president of the International Paralympic Committee and received the Juan Antonio Samaranch Disabled Athlete Award in recognition of his significant contribution to the world of sport. He also sat on the Board of the London 2012 Bid and received a knighthood in the 2005 Queen’s Birthday Honours.

He was awarded the Paralympic Order, the highest order of the IPC, in 2017.
