Ann Cutcliffe OBE 1943-2023

The British Paralympic Association is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Honorary Vice President Ann Cutcliffe OBE.

She held significant roles in the Para Equestrian world and was awarded an OBE for services to the sport in 2011.

Ann was a BPA board member from 2001 until 2013 and was involved with many charities including Riding for the Disabled, Wheelpower and Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

She was involved with London 2012’s Cultural and International Inspiration programmes, having been part of the 2012 Cultural Committee during the bid process for the London Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Nick Webborn CBE, Chair of the BPA, said: “I remember Ann with great fondness as she helped and welcomed me at my first Games in Atlanta 96.

“She was a wonderful supporter of the BPA, who was a key figure in leading the Great Britain Para Equestrian team to its unrivalled position in the sport. Ann was a true advocate of the power of Paralympic sport and will be greatly missed.”
