Today (Tuesday October 23, 2012) marks 500 days to go to the start of the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games.

ParalympicsGB is working closely with all three of our winter sports to ensure that we send the best prepared British team to the Games, which will be held from 7 to 16 March 2014.

Tim Hollingsworth, CEO of the British Paralympic Association, said: “It is fitting that towards the end of this memorable year of Paralympic sport we acknowledge another milestone, 500 days to go until the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games.

“For our athletes who are training with the ambition of selection to ParalympicsGB in 2014, the milestone is a moment to reflect on the hard work and dedication that they will need on their journey to Sochi."Tim Hollingsworth

“For our athletes who are training with the ambition of selection to ParalympicsGB in 2014, the milestone is a moment to reflect on the hard work and dedication that they will need on their journey to Sochi.

“This is an important period for our winter sports as they pursue hours of hard and often challenging training in their preparations for the Games, and the BPA will continue working to ensure that our best-prepared team will be ready to compete when the Games commence in 500 days’ time.”

The three winter sports that ParalympicsGB could compete in are: Alpine Skiing, Ice Sledge Hockey and Wheelchair Curling.
