Robert Churchill

Robert had been playing table tennis against non-disabled players for 20 years when the “Les Autres” disability category was welcomed into the Paralympic Movement, allowing him to compete at the 1984 Games.

Robert won a silver there in the Men’s Team Event. Robert has been involved with the British Table Tennis Association for the Disabled since its inception in the early 1990s and was its treasurer for the first ten years. He was also Team Manager for an international competition in 1991. Robert’s full-time job was as an engineer with a patent model maker who made replica cars and aeroplanes. Robert retired from that in 2005 and now lives in Kent.
