Kevan threw discus at 4 Paralympic Games; Stoke Mandeville, Seoul, Barcelona and Atlanta, winning bronze at his 3rd and 4th Games.

Kevan had been a keen rugby player, who played for his school and for Lichfield, the nearest rugby club to where he grew up.
A road traffic accident in 1979 saw him break his back and he was introduced to athletics for disabled people while rehabilitating at Pinderfields Spinal Unit, Wakefield.
Although he’s now retired from international competition, Kevan remains passionate about disabled people having the opportunity to play sport and has been chairman of Wheelpower since 1995. He was awarded an OBE in the New Year’s Honours List 2011 for voluntary service to disability sports. Kevan lives in West Yorkshire and has been retired from a full-time role as a Manager in Financial Services since January 2012.
