Alyn Haskey

Alyn was born with Cerebral Palsy, which left him unable to communicate until the age of 14, up until then it was thought that there was no point in Alyn receiving any education.

In the years since, Alyn became able to speak and gained O levels and 4 degrees.

In 1984 he won a bronze at the Paralympic Games for Great Britain with the wheelchair football squad. Alyn achieved bronze, silver and gold in the Duke of Edinburgh awards and wrote a number of books including a collection of short stories and poems.

In July 2004 after 2 years of training he became an assistant curate to a cluster of churches in Nottingham.

Alyn sadly passed away in early 2012.
