On the first day of competition of the London 2012 Paralympic Games, Kenny finished top of the ranking rounds at the Royal Artillery Barracks by surpassing the Paralympic record with a score of 651 and taking the lead ahead of the world record holder, Russian Timur Tuchinov. However, he lost to Turkish archer Zafer Korkmaz in the following round of 16 tie.

Before he competed in London, Kenny had been shooting for five years and he trains with the Taverham Archers. At his first international competition at the 2009 Stoke Mandeville Invitational, he won a gold medal in the men’s Individual Recurve (Standing).
