Claire competed at her third Paralympic Games at London 2012, where she won two silvers and a bronze.

Claire has always been interested in sport, first taking to running, and Swimming from a very young age. She has now been Swimming competitively for over 11 years.

Claire was first selected to ParalympicsGB in 2004 aged 16, where she won a bronze medal in both the 200m Individual Medley (SM9) and 100m Backstroke (S9) at the Athens Paralympic Games. Four years later, she won a bronze medal in the 100m Breaststroke (SB8) in Beijing.

Other highlights of her career to date include winning a gold medal in the 100m Individual Medley at the IPC World Championships (25m) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Since she made her Paralympic debut, Claire has won individual medals at every major championship that she has competed in.

At London 2012, Claire produced a strong performance in the 100m Breaststroke (SB8). After qualifying festest for the final, the world silver medallist was just 0.02 seconds shy of her British record as she clocked a season's best of 1:20.39 to touch second behind Russia's defending champion Olesya Vladykina, who broke the world record in a time of 1:17.17.

She also played a key role in both of the women's relays, bringing home bronze in the 4x100m Freestyle Relay (34pts) and silver in a thrilling 4x100m Medley Relay (34pts), where the British quartet came in just 0.03 seconds behind their Australian rivals to take second place on the podium.

Out of the pool, Claire graduated from Leeds University in 2011 with a Bachelors Degree in Linguistics and Phonetics and in the future she hopes to pursue a career in speech therapy.
