As a registered charity we rely on charitable donations to support our work, and we have always had incredible support from dedicated members of the public who fundraise for us.
If you’d like to support ParalympicsGB, there are lots of ways you can help us to supercharge the team. You can donate money directly, fundraise by organising your own event or if you would really like to challenge yourself why not sign up for Deloitte Ride Across Britain and ask friends and family to sponsor you?
Fundraising for the BPA will enable us to provide the team with the best possible support ahead of the Rio 2016, through areas such as the team preparation camp, nutrition and kit, as well as laying the groundwork for future Games.
Visit our Supercharge ParalympicsGB pages to find out how you can get involved.
As members of the Fundraising Standards Board we follow the Institute of Fundraising’s Code of Fundraising Practice and comply with the key principles embodied in the Code and in the Fundraising Promise.
If you are a business you can also support us by making the BPA your charity of the year. This is a fantastic way to demonstrate your company’s corporate responsibility and it will also make your team feel like they are making a real difference to Paralympic sport in the UK. We have lots of ideas on how this could work and how you can make the most of an association with the BPA. Email us at email@example.com if you would like to explore this further.
Please note that the BPA do not appoint fundraisers to undertake street or house-to-house collections on our behalf. If you experience any issues with people on the street asking for money on behalf of the BPA or to support Paralympians please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our charity number is 802385 (England/Wales).
Our partners are tremendous supporters of the BPA and ParalympicsGB through commercial sponsorship as well as their own fundraising activity. Our Official Partners through to Rio 2016 are adidas, Allianz, BP, BT, Deloitte, EDF Energy, Hogan Lovells, Mondelez International, Nissan and Sainsbury's, all of whom provide invaluable support to ensure we can take the best prepared team to the Games.
UK Sport is the Government agency responsible for investing in Paralympic (and Olympic) success. It distributes both National Lottery and UK Government exchequer funding to support the World Class Performance Programmes of National Governing Bodies, which are dedicated to identifying, developing, and supporting the training of athletes in the years leading up to the Paralympic Games. Full funding figures are available on the UK Sport website. We work very closely in partnership with the National Governing Bodies and other organisations that receive this direct UK Sport investment, however the funding to prepare and take the ParalympicsGB team to the Games is the responsibility of the BPA.
We do receive a restricted and ring fenced investment from UK Sport to support directly our athlete preparation programmes across each Paralympic four year cycle. This contributes to our overall ability to maintain a world leading Paralympic team, in particular through supporting athlete education programmes and a pre-Camps preparation and training camp in Brazil.
